Leading Edge Financial Consultants, Ltd. was established  by Steven D. Joel in 2003.  Steven has spent over 40 years in the insurance, financial, and retirement planning industries, beginning his career in 1983, in Lynbrook, NY, after receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics & Statistics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.

In 1985, he was transferred to the company’s regional office in Schaumburg, IL to  become the liaison to the home office. He was responsible for the coordination of and timely completion and presentation of all facets of his office’s book of Qualified Retirement Plans. In 1987, Steven was offered the opportunity to transition from office liaison to Sales Consultant.  He received his Life and Health Insurance Producer’s license at that time.  In 1990, he passed the Series 6 and 63 Securities exams.

Building solid long-term relationships with other professionals, business owners, and individuals became his immediate focus.  Throughout the years, that focus has remained the cornerstone of his business.
